By Nidd Valley Building Preservation – Restoring Strength & Style to Your Brickwork

Whether you’re dealing with aging mortar, weather damage, or want to enhance the appearance of your building, our skilled team delivers high-quality, long-lasting results throughout Yorkshire.
🧱 What is Brickwork Pointing?
Brick pointing (also known as repointing) is the process of renewing the mortar joints between bricks. Over time, weathering and decay can cause mortar to erode, leaving gaps that allow water to seep in — leading to damp, structural damage, and heat loss.
Repointing restores your brickwork’s durability, improves insulation, and gives your property a fresh, clean appearance.
OUR STONEWORK AND BRICKOWORK REPOINTING TESTIMONIALS
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
“Exceptional stonework pointing – heritage quality craftsmanship!”
We had the team from Nidd Valley Building Preservation repoint the stonework on our 18th-century cottage, and we’re absolutely thrilled with the results. The original lime mortar had deteriorated badly over time, and we were keen to find a company with experience in heritage properties — Nidd Valley came highly recommended, and they certainly lived up to their reputation.
The craftsmanship was outstanding. They carefully raked out the old mortar by hand and used a traditional lime mix that blended beautifully with the original stone. Their attention to detail, especially around the window reveals and corners, was spot on. You can tell they really know their trade and care about getting it right.
The team was friendly, respectful of the property, and kept the site tidy throughout the work. They also took the time to explain the process and offered advice on how to care for the stonework going forward.
We wouldn’t trust anyone else with this kind of work. If you’re looking for expert stone pointing, especially for older buildings, Nidd Valley are the ones to call.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
“Top-notch workmanship – highly recommended!”
We recently had Nidd Valley Building Preservation carry out brickwork pointing on our Victorian terrace in Harrogate, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. From start to finish, the team was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about their work.
They took great care in matching the original mortar colour and style, and their attention to detail was second to none. The finished brickwork looks fantastic — clean, tidy, and completely in keeping with the character of our home. It’s made such a difference to the overall appearance, and we’ve already had compliments from neighbours!
Communication was excellent throughout, they turned up when they said they would, and left everything spotless. It’s rare to find tradespeople who go the extra mile these days, but Nidd Valley definitely do.
Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing repointing or general building preservation work.
